Deutsch

The German language (Deutsch) is a West Germanic language and one of the world's major languages. German is closely related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. Around the world, German is spoken by approximately 100 million native speakers and another 20 million non-native speakers, and Standard German is widely taught in schools and universities in Europe. Worldwide, German accounts for the most written translations into and from a language (Guinness Book of Records). German is the 3rd most commonly spoken language in U.S. homes.

Good Morning Video

The person who spoke German chose not to be on camera.  So I attempted to say, "Good Morning. How are how?"  I apologize to any native speaker if I butchered your language.  My hope is that when a teacher chooses to teach German to her non-German speaking students, she/he will have a native speaker in the classroom or on video. However, I hope you attempt to speak German as I did, even if you think you will butcher it! It is important to let your native German speakers know that you are interested in their language.

Stamps

Instrumental and Confirmational Reading - These stamps are Instrumental reading because they tell me where the postcard was mailed from and how much it cost to mail them.  They are Confirmational reading because I have saved these stamps.  Every once in a while I get the postcard back out to look at.
